Event Attendees on Event Page: See Who’s Going Before You Book
Ever been on the fence about attending an event, then noticed a friend’s name on the list and thought “alright, I’m in”? That’s the power of social proof โ and now it’s built right into SPORTSHUB.
We’ve just shipped a new feature that lets organisers display a “Who’s going” section directly on their public event page. Players can see who else has signed up before they book, making it easier to commit and more fun to plan around.
Why This Matters
Social proof is one of the strongest motivators when it comes to event attendance. Knowing that other people โ especially people you recognise โ are going to an event makes a huge difference. It turns a “maybe” into a “definitely”.
For organisers, this means real impact:
- Higher conversion rates โ players who land on your event page are more likely to book when they see others have already committed. Fewer abandoned carts, more filled spots.
- Community building โ attendees start to recognise regulars, fostering a sense of belonging even before the event starts. Your events become destinations, not just dates on a calendar.
- Momentum โ early sign-ups encourage more sign-ups. It’s a positive feedback loop that helps new events gain traction faster.
Privacy First
We know attendee data is sensitive, so we’ve been intentional about what’s shown and what isn’t.
- Only full names are displayed. No email addresses, no phone numbers, no ticket types, no payment information โ nothing else.
- Opt-out by default. The feature is off until an organiser explicitly turns it on.
- Organisers have full control. You can toggle the setting on or off at any time, and the change takes effect immediately.
The backend enforces this too โ if the feature is disabled, the attendee list endpoint returns nothing, regardless of how the page is accessed.
Try It Out
If you’re an organiser on SPORTSHUB, enable it in your event settings โ it takes seconds and could be the nudge your next attendee needs to book.
And if you’re a player, keep an eye out for the “Who’s going” section next time you’re browsing events โ you might just spot a familiar name.
