Booking Approval: You Choose Who Gets In

Not every event is first-come, first-served. Sometimes you need to check skill level, verify membership, or simply make sure the right people are in the room. That’s why we’ve launched Booking Approval — a simple way for organisers to review and approve attendees before their spot is confirmed.

Players tap Request to Book instead of Book Now. You review each request in your Organiser Hub. And here’s the part that matters most: their payment method is not charged unless you accept them.

Why Organisers Love It

Booking Approval puts you back in control without adding friction to your workflow:

• Curate your crowd — approve the right mix of players for competitive sessions, members-only events, or skill-based groups
• No awkward refunds — since cards aren’t charged until you approve, you won’t need to refund players you turn away
• A fair window to decide — you have 48 hours to review each request before it’s automatically declined
• Works with forms — review a player’s form responses before you hit approve

What Players Experience

From the player’s side, the flow is straightforward and transparent:

1. They select tickets and click Request to Book
2. They see a clear message: “Organiser approval required. Your card won’t be charged until you’re approved.”
3. After checkout, they get a confirmation that their request was submitted
4. You approve or reject — and they’re emailed either way

If approved, their card is charged and they receive a booking confirmation. If rejected, the hold on their card is released and the spot goes back on sale.

How to Turn It On

Booking Approval is available on paid events with Stripe connected. Enable it when creating an event, or toggle it anytime from your event’s Settings tab.

Once enabled, head to Organiser Hub → your event → Attendees to review pending requests. You’ll see Pending, Approved, and Rejected tabs — approve or reject with a single click.
